First Pres Community –

Hurricane Dorian continues to capture our attention and prayers for all affected by this slow moving, storm.  Presbyterian Disaster Assistance is actively working to bring help.  You may contribute to PDA through our denomination’s website at pcusa.org or by making a check to First Pres and marking it clearly for Dorian relief.

Even if Dorian causes the Chiefs opener (in Jacksonville) to be changed, our “kick-off” is on!

THIS SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 8th is KICK-OFF SUNDAY!  Choir returns at the 11am service.  The sermon at both the 9am and 11am services will be “Known by God”.  Between the services, during the 10am Faith and Fellowship hour, there will be games for kids inside and outside (weather permitting) …and an opportunity for all to meet their Sunday School teachers and to see their classrooms.  At Noon, the Chiefs season opener (if held) will be broadcast in our Fellowship Hall as we enjoy a Tailgate Potluck Luncheon with a Chicken Wing Contest.  You may sill enter!  There will also be brats and burgers served.  Wear your red as we enjoy a “wing ding” time together!  Nursery care is provided all morning.

This Saturday, September 7, Women’s Breakfast at 8:30am.  All ladies welcome.

Also, this Saturday, Men’s Group Annual Fish Fry at the Beavers.  Contact Tom and Roxee Beaver asap.

In addition, this September, the Eating Out Group will dine. Contact Lucy Daily if interested.

Next Monday, September 9, Dinner for Eight, gathering at the Stefanellis, 5:30pm.  Contact Donna Haines to sign up or for more information.

Next Thursday, September 12, 8:30am Keenagers travel to Shatto Milk Company for a 10:30am tour.  Cracker Barrel for lunch.  $6 for tour and cost of lunch.  Sign up in Narthex.

Then, Sunday, September 15, Church School classes begin for all ages, including 5 adult classes, 10-10:40am.

TONIGHT, Bells at 6:30pm and Choir at 7:30pm.  New participants are always welcome.  (LOGOS and Youth Group resume Wednesday, October 2, 5:30-7:30pm.)

Go Team Go !!!
