First Pres Community –

3 items…

1 – Super Bowl Sunday.  Yes, we WILL be having church.  The game is not on until 5:30 or so (thank you NFL), so you have plenty of time to come worship God first…which you should be doing anyway.  (Wear KC red and don’t forget to pick up your youth made meal.)

Super Bowl Sunday is also Souper Bowl Sunday for our non-perishable food drive given in support of your team.  Proceeds to Lee’s Summit Social Services (who also collect Best Choice labels to purchase milk for those in need.)

Super Bowl Sunday, the sermon will be “The Victory”.  Communion will be observed at both the 9am and 11am services.  During the 10am Faith and Fellowship time, all classes for all ages will be held…including 5 adult classes.  Nursery care is provided all morning.

Super Bowl Sunday current forecast here is 61 degrees…yes, you read that right.

2 – Two hour late opening for LS Schools means our office opened 2 hours later today, but ALL EVENTS TONIGHT ARE ON.  Logos at 5:30, Youth Group at 6:30, Bells at 6:30, and Choir at 7:30.  As always, do not come if you do not feel safe…use your best judgment for yourself.

Two hours late will also be when the church office will open next Monday…though Bells will still rehearse at their normal time.  (Maybe the schools will follow our lead this time.)

3 – The “Readiness 360 Survey” is live.  Outreach Action Team requests feedback from you on the future for our church.  The survey will take 15-20 minutes to fill out.  Visit https://app.readiness360.org/survey/login and enter the survey code “4089932853”  A member of the team will also be available Sunday morning to login and assist anyone who not online or who needs assistance.  Questions to Brian Boye or Mike Ditty.  The survey ends March 1.

3 items…now 3 times:  GO CHIEFS!  GO CHIEFS!!  GO CHIEFS!!!

See you Sunday…Super Bowl Sunday.

Your pastor and friend  Michael

Ps – Super Bowl Sunday is also Groundhog’s Day!  Hopefully, like in the movie “Groundhog Day”, this means that the Chiefs will be in the Superbowl again and again and again.  (We also hope Punxsutawney Phil doesn’t see his shadow!)
